Swans announce list changes

The Swans have announced two changes to their player list to go with the retirements of Ted Richards and Ben McGlynn. Ruckman Tom Derickx has retired, and Category B Rookie Kyle Galloway has been delisted.

Derickx, 28, joined the Swans as a free agent from Richmond at the end of 2013 having played just 2 games. He debuted in round 2 and featured throughout the 2014, found his opportunities limited in 2015 and 2016, playing exclusively in the NEAFL. Galloway was yet to feature for the senior side.

Swans Head of Football Tom Harley thanked both players for their contributions.

“Both Tom and Kyle have worked hard during their time at our football club and represented the Swans in the NEAFL Grand Final,” Harley said.

“Tom has been a very popular member of the squad since coming across from Richmond and gave his all for the team.

“We extend our thanks to both players and wish them all the very best for the future.”

I don’t know who the Swans will turn to when they need to interview a-list celebrities, or look ripped on the walkway, or get fancy and dress well, he was a man of many talents. Tom was hugely popular within the team and will no doubt be missed by all. Even though he didn’t have any senior opportunities towards the end of his career, he was well respected by the team, and an important member of the NEAFL team.

Best of luck to the big man and I hope he stays around the club and takes up coaching. But who knows, he might just go back to being a carpenter.
