Rohan, Johnson placed on long term injury list

Luckless Swans defender Alex Johnson has been placed on the long term injury list alongside explosive forward, Gary Rohan.

While both players have never been ones to shy from the Swans medical ward, the missing players will be a significant hit for the Swans faithful. With fans hopeful of a miraculous, fairytale return to football for the 2016 clubman of the year, being placed on the long term injury list is sure to distress an unlucky few.

But, fear not, as the Swans have devised a devious plan to have him ready for selection from round 4, training the house down and screaming for selection with a blood curdling murderous scream.

“We’re really pleased with where Alex is at in terms of his rehabilitation, he’s been gradually increasing his training and is in great spirits,” Harley said.

“By placing Alex on the long-term injury list it will enable him to be available for selection from Round 4, and we’re really hopeful of seeing him return to playing this year.”

At least he didn’t resort to smearing horse placenta on his knee to improve his recovery.

Meanwhile, injury prone Rohan has missed significant portion of pre-season training, struggling to overcome a number of niggling issues, and won’t feature in any of the JLT community matches. At least this year he’ll be ready from round 4, instead of round 9.

“Gary has been limited in his training, most recently because of back soreness,” Harley said.

“As a result of his limited training he will need at least another eight weeks of preparation before he can return to play.

“Gary had a similar start to last season and was still able to come in a make a significant impact, so we’re confident he will do the same again this year,”

With both players excluded from pre-season, A. Stretcher may have to wait for his opportunity.
