Zak Jones on report for hit on Cloke

Zak Jones has been reported for rough conduct, for the heavy collision with Travis Cloke in the 1st quarter on Friday night. He left the ground for the marking contest, but collided with Cloke in midair.

While the hit wasn’t malicious and Cloke was able to play out the game, the contact will come under scrutiny from the AFL. While he didn’t appear to make head-high contact with the player, the Bulldog was winded. Longmire was unsurprisingly tight lipped on the incident when asked about it.

“I’m not talking about that one because I can’t talk about it, because I don’t think that’s the right thing to do for a coach,” he said.

“But we came into the game needing to win our 50-50 footys.

“He’s a young player and I thought he had a real go in general. That particular contest is not for me to comment (on).”

At worst, he’ll be offered a week and can take points with an early guilty plea. More likely that he’ll get points or a fine. Judge for yourself.
